BRAND protection and packaging enhancement with nanometer beauty were the themes of an address given by Fresnels Inc. COO Dr Glenn Wood at a recent security industry conference.
Speaking at the 12th Security Document Summit (October 24/25) held at National Conference Center in Beijing PR China, Dr Wood used the opportunity to announce the launch in China of Fresnel’s new mastering system called Dragonfly.
The system is designed to create innovative imaging in large format (60cm x 80cm) for packaging applications, and has the ability to create ground-breaking looks and patterns with 3D effects that could be polished metal.
The images, though flat, generate keenness by the observer to reach out and touch them. This phenomenon is predicted to have a significant impact on the sales of any branded packaging sporting the effect.
Dr Wood announced that one test system has already been supplied to India and strong interest is now being shown by printers and converters in China, eyeing export markets, with several systems now ordered.
The Dragonfly system has now become the leading mastering system for the manufacture of laminates and transfer films aimed at the luxury brand market, said Dr Wood.
